South Sydney Rabbitohs fined $20,000, Cody Walker suspended for two matches

South Sydney have suffered a huge blow after Cody Walker was suspended for two matches by the NRL integrity unit for his role in a Casino street fight in December.

And the NRL fined Walker $15,000, which will be suspended for 12 months, for bringing the game into disrepute.

The Redfern club was also fined $20,000 for failing to report the incident, even though coach Wayne Bennett was the only staff member to know about it.

The NRL said in a statement: “All clubs and club officials have a duty to report any incident which may lead to a breach of NRL rules, including suspected breaches, and NRL clubs are responsible for ensuring compliance.”
