Jack Steven ‘a victim of something quite serious’

Geelong expect Jack Steven, who coach Chris Scott described as “a victim of something quite serious,” to be back at the club within days following his release from hospital on Tuesday.

Steven arrived at Cabrini hospital in Melbourne at about 1am on Sunday with a stab wound that required surgery to repair the injury under his right thoracic duct in his chest.

The details around the situation that led to him being stabbed are not yet clear, with a police investigation into the incident ongoing.

Scott said he had spoken to Steven and without shedding light on the details emphasised his main concern was for Steven’s welfare.
