Penrith Panthers prowl down fashion runway to chase away Nathan Cleary blues

Isaah Yeo was one of the standouts, dressed as Will Ferrell’s character Ricky Bobby in the comedy Talladega Nights.

As part of strict biosecurity protocols, the players had to leave their suede shoes and Air Jordans at the front of the Panthers Academy.

Pint-sized winger Brian To’o told the Herald it was a lot of fun. He crowned Fisher-Harris as the best dressed.

“All the NBA players dress up on game day so we thought we’d have some fun and do the same,” said To’o, who reverted to the standard club tracksuit when he arrived for training on Tuesday.

“When ‘Fish’ came up with the idea we were all like, ‘yeah, 100 per cent’,” he said. “The word went out for all the boys to dress in their best gear. We’ll probably do it again.”

Cleary and housemate Tyrone May were fined and suspended for breaching social-distancing rules on Anzac Day, and attracted some negative comments on social media when they posted photos of themselves on Monday.

Penrith are expected to make the short trip down the Northern Road and call Campbelltown home for the next few weeks, despite having one of the best playing surfaces across the road at Panthers Stadium.

Matt Burton and Jarome Luai are expected to play in the halves for Penrith, who won their opening two games, with Cleary one of the standouts.
