The product in question is Berg Deli Prosciutto Sliced 100g, however only items with the use-by date of June 18 are being recalled. Those with different dates are safe to eat.
The product has been sold in Aldi stores throughout NSW, Victoria and the ACT and any customers who bought a pack are encouraged to return it to their nearest Aldi store for a full refund.
The recall is due to an incorrect back label resulting in an “undeclared milk allergen”, which could cause a reaction in people with a milk allergy or intolerance.
“ALDI takes product quality and safety seriously,” Aldi said in a Facebook post yesterday.
“Customers should return the product to the place of purchase for a full cash refund. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
