The NRL has handed Latrell Mitchell and Josh Addo-Carr $50,000 fines and Nathan Cleary a $10,000 fine after the star trio were caught flouting social distancing rules.
Addo-Carr, Mitchell and 10 other men were caught ignoring lockdown protocols on a hunting and camping trip on the mid-north coast at Mitchell’s property near Taree, posting photographs and videos of the trip on social media.
The former NSW Origin teammates were on Monday fined $1000 by police for ignoring social distancing rules and Addo-Carr remains under investigation for possible criminal action regarding his use of firearms on Mitchell’s property.
The pair have also been punished by the NRL. They were handed $50,000 fines – 60 per cent of which is suspended for the rest of the season – and a suspended ban of one game.
