The show, Working Through it, which will run live on Essendon’s website and then released as a podcast, will feature Hird, Watson and chief executive Xavier Campbell.
The impact of COVID-19 on the game, the strategic direction of the club, broad football issues and the mindset of the players will be just some of the topics addressed during the podcast.
In his time as club boss, Campbell has worked hard to maintain strong relationships with the likes of Hird and Watson, who were both significantly impacted by the torturous drug saga.
Hird eventually departed as coach after being suspended for 12 months, while Watson returned his 2012 Brownlow medal, which was handed to Sam Mitchell and Trent Cotchin.
“Fans will have the chance to ring in and talk directly to the hosts, ask questions about the past, present and future, and also share their stories, challenges, fears, hopes and dreams for our great club,” Essendon told The Age in a statement.
