First case of coronavirus in ACT confirmed


“I regret to inform Canberrans we have our first case of COVID-19,” ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr told reporters.

The man in his 30s became unwell on Tuesday and attended the Weston Creek walk-in centre yesterday. A positive result was confirmed this morning.

“ACT Health is following up close contacts of the confirmed case and taking appropriate public health action in line with national protocols,” Mr Barr said.
