A limited number of buses will be running between Circular Quay and Central.
There are also delays on the T1 North Shore Line due to a trespasser at Central earlier.
Sydney Trains said those heading to the airport will need to board at Central Station, as services have halted through the City Circle.
This comes a week after commuters were stranded for up to an hour on crowded platforms due to a fire alarm going off, a medical emergency and wiring issues affecting almost all train lines.
