Eddie Betts will play for the All Stars in Friday night’s Bushfire Relief match at Marvel Stadium.
The veteran Blue has been named as the replacement for Brisbane Lions’ skipper Dayne Zorko, who was declared unavailable after he experienced hamstring tightness following the Lions’ hitout against Port Adelaide on Sunday.
Betts is one of the game’s most exciting goalkickers having kicked 600 goals in 316 games. He will add a thrilling element to the match with the 33-year-old showing he still had his tricks in a practice match for the Blues against Collingwood last Thursday.
It is the third change to the teams in the lead in to the match with Victorian representatives Robbie Gray and Ben Cunnington withdrawing earlier this week due to soreness. Cunnington was off the ground with a hip issue at the end of North Melbourne’s Marsh Community Series match against the Western Bulldogs.
They have been replaced in the 27-man squad by Travis Boak and Andrew Gaff.
