Hamstring injury setback for former Western Bulldogs player Lukas Webb as he seeks spot on Carlton’s list via AFL SSP

Former Western Bulldog utility Lukas Webb has had a setback in his bid to join the Blues during the pre-season supplemental selection period, after suffering a hamstring injury.

The 23-year-old left the ground late in Thursday’s practice match against Collingwood as he was attempting to show his wares to the Blues, having trained with the club since November, and he was later found to have suffered a significant hamstring injury.

The Blues are considering using a pre-season supplemental selection pick on either Webb, former Tiger Callum Moore, former Cat Jordan Cunico or former Northern Knights utility Ryan Sturgess before the deadline closes on March 13 and are yet to make their mind up with more than two weeks remaining before the deadline.

Moore and Cunico only joined the race recently with Cunico signing with the Northern Blues to play VFL in 2020.
