The Crown recreates iconic Diana moment

Corrin, 24, was photographed in Manchester last week wearing a dress similar to the Victor Edelstein gown that the Princess of Wales wore nearly 30 years ago when she attended an event at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on February 3, 1989.

The actress also donned a blonde wig styled to channel one of Diana’s signature hairdos.

She can be seen waving to fans who hung out around the set as the actors recreated a scene from the 1989 event.

The memorable trip to the Big Apple was the royal’s first official visit to New York. It was her first overseas trip without then-husband Prince Charles.

Season four is the first time Diana’s character will be introduced in the series about the British royal family.

In January, Corrin was spotted wearing a floral dress similar to one worn by Diana leading up to her nuptials to Prince Charles.

Josh O’Connor, who plays Charles, told Harper’s Bazaar recently, “Emma’s doing a brilliant job, and it’s breathtakingly accurate; she looked the spitting image (of Diana), and it’s kind of extraordinary. So that’s kind of spooky.”

Netflix has not yet announced the official premiere date for the new season, but O’Connor added, “I’m really looking forward to finishing that and then getting to share it sometime in 2020, I guess.”
