Friends favourite Aniston opened up to fellow A-lister Sandra Bullock for her cover story in Interview Magazine; sharing that the two were introduced years ago by The OC star Tate Donovan, whom they both dated.

While Donovan portrayed Joshua, the love interest of Aniston’s Rachel Green, on several episodes of Season 4 of Friends, they had actually split by then, having dated from 1995 to 1998.
Before Aniston, The OC alum was romantically involved with Bullock from 1992 until 1995, after they met on the set of Love Potion No. 9 in 1990.
While neither celebrity romance lasted – a fabulous female friendship was born – with the two discussing all things Hollywood, life and friendship in Aniston’s feature, which ran this week along with a series of steamy photos of the 51-year-old star.
Reminiscing about their time with Donovan, who Bullock called “our former boyfriend”, they joked that “he seems to have a type”.
“You and I both partook of this one human being,” recalled Sandra, adding “a very patient human being, given that he dated us both”.
Aniston, who turned 51 on Tuesday, responded: “He seems to have a type,” prompting Bullock to list their mutual qualities.
“Talented. Funny. Kind. Introspective. Generous.”
Continued Jennifer: “Lovers of architecture, lovers of interior design.”
Bullock, 55, was engaged to The OC vet Donovan, 56, until they broke it off in 1995.
She rebounded with Matthew McConaughey.
Aniston moved on with Brad Pitt after splitting with Donovan in 1998.
Despite swirling rumours about a romantic reunion with ex husband Pitt, Aniston is single, divorced from second husband Justin Theroux, while Bullock is in a long-term relationship with Bryan Randall.
The two women revealed their friendship wasn’t instant, Aniston sharing: “I think everything happens in its own time, and I think for whatever reason, life had to happen in both of our worlds the way it did.”
After first meeting through Donovan at a Golden Globes party after both had split from the actor, the pair reconnected at a mutual friend’s wedding.
“I sent you a note and you sent me a shot,” Aniston remembered, with Bullock later saying “you can be an a**hole but you’re so charming!”
Elsewhere in the candid chat, Aniston, who is the daughter of Days Of Our Lives actor John Aniston and actor Nancy Dow, admitted her childhood wasn’t perfect.
She said she often felt “unsafe” at home.
“I think that it comes from growing up in a household that was destabilised and felt unsafe, watching adults being unkind to each other, and witnessing certain things about human behaviour that made me think: ‘I don’t want to do that. I don’t want to be that. I don’t want to experience this feeling I’m having in my body right now. I don’t want anyone else that I ever come in contact with ever to feel that’,” she said of how she overcomes emotional hurdles.
