Just before 6pm on Tuesday, emergency services were called to Wattle Rd, near Shellharbour City Centre, after receiving reports of a seriously injured 16-year-old boy.
The teen was reportedly struck by a Nissan sedan as he crossed Wattle Road while riding his bike, police were told at the scene.
He was treated for head and chest injuries before being flown to Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, in a critical condition, where he later died.
The female driver, aged 25, was not injured and participated in mandatory blood and urine testing.
A crime scene has been established and the Crash Investigation Unit will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
