Officers from the Police Transport Command were called to Central Station at about 11.30am after a man told NSW TrainLink staff that he had recently arrived in Australia from China, sparking coronavirus concerns.
Police conducted inquiries about his recent travel and asked for assistance from NSW Ambulance paramedics and advice from NSW Health.
The man was check by paramedics but was not displaying any symptoms of the virus and wasn’t feeling unwell.
He was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
The area was briefly closed off but was reopened to commuters a short time later with no impact to commuter health or safety.
NSW Health advises there is no reason to believe that there is any risk to the public from this incident.
