Two dead after two plane crashes

Police were called to the Round Hill Rd property at Captain Creek, near Agnes Waters south of Gladstone, around 7am on Sunday.

It is unclear what caused the plane to come down but the two men died at the scene.

Brisbane Times reports the victims are a 60-year-old pilot and his 71-year-old male passenger.

Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating and will prepare a report for the coroner.

Another patient was taken to hospital on Sunday morning before paramedics arrived, after a light plane crash in the Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland.

The aircraft was found on its side at the Atherton Aerodrome, according to the Cairns Post.
