Greater Western Sydney midfielder Stephen Coniglio has taken over as club captain.
Coniglio, who will officially be appointed as skipper on Tuesday afternoon, will take over from co-captains Phil Davis and Callan Ward, having recently re-signed with the Giants for seven years. He turned down mammoth offers from Carlton and Hawthorn to do so.
The 25-year-old last played in round 17 against Richmond when he hobbled off the field with a knee injury, which caused him to miss the remainder of the season including the grand final.
The appointment comes during an off-season of upheaval for GWS, who have lost senior assistant coach Matthew Nicks to Adelaide, while longtime football boss Wayne Campbell was sacked following a dispute with chief executive Dave Matthews.
