Collingwood’s Ben Crocker gets a second AFL chance as Adelaide rookie

Former Collingwood forward Ben Crocker found a new home via the rookie draft when the Crows used their final pick to select the 22-year-old.

Crocker met with list manager Justin Reid in the lead-up to the draft and convinced the Crows to take a punt on him after he was starved of opportunity in recent seasons at the Magpies.

A popular figure at the Magpies, he was delisted after 26 games but his former teammates were rapt he can continue his AFL career at a club undergoing a list transformation.

The Crows also took former Lions academy graduate Ben Keays adding experience to a list that lost Eddie Betts, Josh Jenkins, Hugh Greenwood, Sam Jacobs, Alex Keath, Richard Douglas and Andy Otten from their list post-season.
