Geelong skipper Joel Selwood will resume full training in January after undergoing hamstring surgery at the start of the month.
The Cats confirmed the 31-year-old midfielder decided to have the minor procedure to clean up tendon damage and Geelong are pleased with the outcome.
Selwood was a strong contributor for the Cats in 2019, playing on the wing for much of the season. However he saved his best for the semi-final clash against West Coast when he led the team to victory with a best on ground performance.
He expects to be back on the track when the team comes back from their Christmas break in early January but will be at the club for the period before Christmas, having already been spotted at GMHBA Stadium in the past two weeks when the first- to fourth-year players returned.
