This year’s Bachelorette Angie Kent and her beau Carlin Sterritt just about managed it during their guest appearance on Monday’s HYBPA, smiling – and occasionally squirming – through an absolute roasting from the panel.

Host Tom Gleeson started by asking Angie for her thoughts on this year’s Bachelor Matt Agnew splitting from his Bach winner, six months after filming ended. As the former Gogglebox start started waxing lyrical about how hard life can be “outside the Bach bubble”, comedian Sam Pang interjected: “Angie, just for those who don’t know, what has actually happened to those two people who I’ve never heard of?”

“Sometimes in life, couple’s reach a natural end to their … contractual arrangements,” explained Gleeson.
“Are you telling me Matt’s single again?” asked an incredulous Pang, shaking his head.
From there, the comedians turned their attentions to the Bach couple in front of them, pummelling them with a barrage of shady questions.
“I’ve got an actual question for the couple. Do you wax your chest?” asked Urzila Carlson. And then, as Carlin responded: “I was talking to Angie. Mid-40s, honey, you’re gonna (have to).”
When Carlin said it’d been a relief not to have to hide their relationship anymore, Carlson asked: “So you would say ‘coming out’ was amazing?”
Playing footage from last week’s Bach, Carlin asked the panel why an emotional Angie had momentarily fled the rose ceremony. Kiwi comic Hayley Sproull buzzed in: “You know when you’re in a new relationship and you haven’t farted yet around them …?”
As the comics piled on, even Carlin gave his new girlfriend a roasting: When Angie gave her newly released book a plug, Carlin happily admitted he hadn’t read it. And when Angie jokingly referred to her own voice as “annoying”, Carlin jumped in: “I wasn’t going to say it … but yes.”
Bach sceptic Pang delivered the most savage burn of the segment, as Angie, overcome by giggles, struggled to get out another question.
Pang buzzed in: “Angie, seriously, you’re going to have to hurry up because your 15 minutes is almost up.”
Have You Been Paying Attention? airs 8:30pm Mondays on Ten.
