Agency gongs, ex-Sydney printing house turns new page

Property professionals from across Australia have been honoured at the 26th annual Excellence in Agency Awards for their contribution to Dexus’ leasing and transaction success. The 31 finalists gathered at The Star in Sydney on Thursday night to celebrate their success in concluding leasing and property transactions for the 2019 financial year on behalf of Dexus or its third party capital partners.

Dexus executive general manager for offices, Kevin George, said CBRE’s James Parry won the property transaction of the year award for the acquisition for Dexus of 60 Pitt Street, Sydney. The Sydney office agency of the year prize was awarded to Colliers International, while the office agent gong went to Paul Lynch of JLL’s North Sydney location and the office broker award went to Linda Ko from JLL Sydney.

In the industrial sector, agent of the year was Michael Wall of Savills, Sydney, while the leasing deal award went to Nick Saunders of Colliers International in South Melbourne.

William Brooks

A former William Brooks printing house in Sydney’s inner south is on the market and its next chapter could involve a transformation into a brand new work-play-retail precinct. 1035 Bourke Street, Waterloo, a single-storey building on a 995 sq m site, is available for lease in its entirety through Colliers International.

1035 Bourke Street, Waterloo, is the former printing headquarters for William Brooks & Co.

Tony Crane, manager of sales and leasing at Colliers International, said the building lends itself to a range of retail businesses and commercial enterprises and is a good space for a food and beverage operator.
