Glimmer of hope for axed Collingwood veteran

Murray tested positive to an illicit substance – believed to be cocaine – in July 2018, his debut season in the AFL.


His ban expires on February 16, 2020, and he is reported to have attracted interest from rival clubs ahead of being allowed to resume training in December.

The retirement of Tyson Goldsack and Daniel Wells means the Pies have made five changes to their primary list ahead of Thursday’s first lodgement deadline.

Collingwood list manager Ned Guy said the changes would help the club to blood promising youngsters over the next 12 to 18 months, including Isaac Quaynor, Will Kelly, Mark Keane, Tom Wilson, Nathan Murphy and Tyler Brown.
