Brad Scott officially steps down as North Melbourne coach

Brad Scott has officially stepped down from his role as North Melbourne coach, effective immediately.

He and Roos chairman Ben Buckley fronted a press conference on Sunday afternoon, where Buckley confirmed a “mutual parting of ways” was agreed upon on Friday afternoon.

Scott said that it had been an honour and a privilege to coach North Melbourne for 10 years, while Buckley called Scott “a true shinboner” and said he would always be a part of the North Melbourne family..

Buckley said Rhyce Shaw would coach out the rest of the season, but the club would immediately start the search for a new coach and would also start a review of its operations.

Scott said there was “nothing but blue sky ahead” for the Roos. He referenced the challenges he had faced during his time at the club, including when North “staved off relocation”, as being the making of him.
