Selwood said on Wednesday that provided he trained well on Thursday he would be clear to play. Menegola also still has to prove his fitness with his knee injury.
“It’s a bit of everything,” Selwood told K Rock. “I’ve had a back for a little bit, but that very minor. Then it was leg/groin, then it went down into my calf a little bit, too.
“It was a combination, over a little period of time. I trained well Monday. I’ll train again tomorrow and feel good again.”
Defender Tom Stewart, who was also assessed after a head knock in the North Melbourne game, is clear to play. It is understood Stewart’s issue was more about possible damage to his neck and not concussion but he had been cleared of any neck concern and was not in pain.
Western Bulldogs ruckman Tim English is doubtful to play again this week. English missed last week with soreness after he was knocked around in the Richmond game two weeks ago. He was a late withdrawal from the Brisbane game last week and is still struggling to overcome that soreness and cork injuries he suffered.
