Sydney Swans’ Dane Rampe fined by AFL for ‘little girl’ umpire sledge, climbing on goalpost

The AFL has slammed Dane Rampe’s comments towards an umpire as “derogatory” and “completely unacceptable”.

The league has issued the Sydney captain with a $10,000 fine for telling umpire Jacob Mollison he “talks like a little girl”, half of which has been suspended for the rest of his career. Rampe was given a fully suspended $1000 fine for climbing the goal post.

In total, he is out of pocket $5000 for his controversial night at the office.

Despite the furore created by Rampe’s bizarre behaviour after the siren, the AFL deemed the defender’s sledge towards the umpire as the more serious offence.
