After their worst performance of the year Carlton will at least be reassured by the likely return this week of ruckman Matthew Kreuzer and forward Mitch McGovern.
Running player Will Setterfield will also be likely to come into the team that crashed and burned last weekend against North Melbourne in the Blues’ worst loss of the season.
Full-back Liam Jones, who was knocked out in in the match and was taken to hospital for assessment, has improved quickly but remains highly unlikely to be fit to take on Collingwood at the MCG on Saturday.
Blues ruckman Kreuzer received a knock to his hamstring early in the match against Hawthorn two weeks ago and pushed through but by the last quarter he was unable to continue as the Blues were overhauled by the Hawks.
Kreuzer is likely to be declared fit to play this week. Likewise McGovern, who had hamstring tightness that kept him out of the team to play North, is expected to be fit to return this week against Collingwood.
