CCTV: Two licensed venues robbed by armed men in Queensland city

The armed robberies occurred hours apart — the first at a hotel on Upper Dawson Road and the second at a tavern on Kent Street.

At the first robbery, CCTV shows a single man entering the premises at about 12.30am this morning and threatening the bartender with a tyre iron, demanding money.

The bartender hands over the till, as the man waves the tyre iron. The man then runs from a security guard before fleeing the premises.

The second robbery occurred at a Rockhampton tavern at about 5am. Three men, armed with large knives, entered the tavern on Kent Street and demanded money.

CCTV footage shows the trio, wearing black face masks as well as white, red and grey hooded jumpers, pointing their knives at the bartenders.

One bartender retrieves two tills for the masked men before they run from the premises.

They escaped the scene in a white van with the stolen cash, according to Queensland Police.

They drove the van to Park Street in Park Avenue, where it was set alight. The three men then fled the scene.

Police are yet to establish if the two armed robberies are linked or separate incidents.

Queensland Police continue to investigate.
