AFL tribunal upholds Riewoldt ‘chicken-wing’ charge

The AFL tribunal has ruled against injured Richmond spearhead Jack Riewoldt over his “chicken-wing” tackle on Melbourne player Bayley Fritsch.

The jury deliberated for more than 10 minutes at Tuesday’s hearing before upholding the charge.

It means the fine increases from $1000 to $1500 as Riewoldt starts a six-week stint on the sidelines due to a knee injury he suffered in last Wednesday’s match.
