Ariarne Titmus sets Commonwealth record at Australian nationals

Titmus’ time is 0.51 seconds inside the previous Commonwealth benchmark set by Canadian Taylor Ruck at last year’s Gold Coast Games.

“I’m swimming faster than I have ever have before so I feel like I had that in me,” Titmus said.

“But coming into the meet not rested, I’m not quite sure what my body is going to do, whether it’s going to hold up.”
