Boomers grouped with Lithuania at World Cup

Australia have been drawn in Group H with Lithuania, Canada and Senegal for this year’s Basketball World Cup in China.

The Boomers, who are 11th in the world rankings, open their campaign on August 31 against Canada who are 23rd in what will be the fifth meeting between the sides at a World Cup.

Andrej Lemanis’ team face their toughest test in game two against world No.6 side Lithuania.

However, they will have fond memories of their last meeting with the eastern European nation who they beat by 26 points in the Olympic quarter-finals in Rio three years ago.
